Cookie and similar technologies policy
1. Data controller and scope
This policy explains cookies, the browser preference record and processing through measurement tags on the Selion website. Reading this page or continuing to use the site does not grant analytics or marketing consent.
The controller is SEL DIŞ TİCARET VE KİMYA SANAYİ A.Ş. For cookie and privacy questions, send an email to kvkk@selsil.com.tr. The Privacy Notice lists the company’s address, MERSİS number and registered electronic delivery address (KEP).
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small records a website stores in your browser and can use in later requests. Session cookies last for the browser session; persistent cookies have a defined lifetime, which your browser may shorten.
First-party cookies belong to the domain you are visiting; third-party cookies belong to another domain. A Google or Meta tag can set a first-party cookie on our domain and send its identifier to the provider. First-party status does not mean the data stays within our company.
Browser local storage keeps information between visits. Pixels and tags send network requests to providers when actions such as opening a page or selecting a product occur. Section 5 explains what happens when you reject.
Server-side measurement sends an event to a provider through our server without storing a cookie in your browser. On Selion it is used for Meta and only with your marketing consent. Because it is not a cookie, it does not appear in the table below.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
The necessary preference record stores analytics and marketing choices, the choice time and notice version in localStorage.selionConsent. It applies your choice on later visits and is not used for advertising.
Analytics cookies link visits and sessions to measure site use with Google Analytics. Marketing cookies help Meta Pixel and Google Ads measure ad results. The table below states each cookie’s specific purpose.
Optional cookies and the associated analytics or marketing processing rely on consent. Data is collected automatically through browser tags. The Privacy Notice explains processing grounds, including the necessary preference record; the Consent Statement explains the scope of permission.
4. Cookies we use
The table lists the name, category, provider, party status, purpose and lifetime of Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and Google Ads cookies. Analytics cookies require analytics consent; marketing cookies require marketing consent. test_cookie checks whether the advertising infrastructure can use cookies in your browser; that function does not make it strictly necessary for the site.
The asterisk in _ga_* represents an identifier that varies with the measurement configuration. Ad click cookies may be created when the relevant click information is present; not every visitor will have all the listed cookies.
Durations in the table are the providers’ documented defaults and may vary with your browser and settings.
Google Maps on the Contact page is a separate service; the Privacy Notice explains its data flow.
The video on the About page is embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and loads only when you press play. Playing the video sets no cookie on the youtube-nocookie.com domain. The player also connects to google.com; Google’s __Secure-ENID (about 13 months) and SEARCH_SAMESITE (about 6 months) cookies are used on that connection. These cookies belong to a third-party domain, are not listed in the table and are not controlled by the cookie panel categories.
Cookies, purposes and durations| Cookie | Category | Provider | Party | Purpose | Duration |

| _ga | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | First party | Distinguishes browsers to help estimate how many people use the site. | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | First party | Links page views within a visit to help produce site-use statistics. | 2 years |
| _fbp | Marketing | Meta Pixel | First party | Recognises a browser to help measure site interactions after Meta ads. | 90 days |
| _fbc | Marketing | Meta Pixel | First party | Links a Meta ad click to later site interactions to help measure ad results. | 90 days |
| _gcl_au | Marketing | Google Ads | First party | Links Google ad interactions to actions on the site to help measure ad results. | 90 days |
| _gcl_aw | Marketing | Google Ads | First party | Links a Google ad click to later site interactions to help measure ad results. | 90 days |
| _gcl_dc | Marketing | Google Ads / Display & Video | First party | Links a display ad click to later site interactions to help measure ad results. | 90 days |
| IDE | Marketing | Google DoubleClick | Third party | Helps measure Google ad delivery and interactions. | 13 months in the EEA, Switzerland and UK; 24 months elsewhere |
| test_cookie | Marketing | Google DoubleClick | Third party | Tests whether the browser accepts cookies so Google ad measurement can work. | 15 minutes |
5. Cookie choices and withdrawal of consent
Analytics and marketing are off by default; choices apply to these categories rather than individual cookies. To withdraw consent, open Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page, turn off the category and save. Rejection does not prevent browsing products or contacting us.
You can remove cookies through your browser’s privacy or site data settings. Removing the site’s preference record prompts a new choice. When you turn a category off, the site deletes that category’s cookies on its own domain (for example _ga, _fbp, _fbc); it cannot delete cookies on the providers’ own domains or data already held by providers.
When you reject analytics and marketing, measurement tags are not loaded; no measurement data is sent to Google or Meta. The Privacy Notice provides the details.
Server-side advertising measurement also depends on the marketing choice. Turning marketing off stops these events from being sent; records that already reached Meta are not deleted automatically.
6. Recipients and international transfers
Analytics data is sent to Google; advertising measurement data goes to Google or Meta depending on the tag. First-party cookie identifiers may also be shared. The linked Privacy Notice sections explain recipient legal entities, purposes, roles and international transfer safeguards.
7. Retention periods
The table describes cookie lifetimes in the browser. Browser restrictions or your deletion can shorten them. Depending on tag settings, later visits may renew expiry. An expired cookie does not mean that event records already sent to the provider have been deleted.
Your cookie choice is valid for 12 months (365 days) from your last saved choice. When the site next opens after expiry or a notice version change, it invalidates the old preference, removes the analytics and marketing cookies set on this site’s domain under your earlier permission and asks again. Choices, time and notice version are kept in localStorage.selionConsent; the local record and those cookies may remain if you do not reopen the site. No separate server-side consent log is kept.
Retention of measurement data held by Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta is separate from cookie lifetimes. The Privacy Notice covers periods or deletion criteria by service and data type.
9. Policy updates
We update this policy and the cookie table when cookies, providers or purposes change. We ask for a choice before processing that requires new consent; your earlier choice does not automatically authorise new purposes.
