About

Applications

Water and wastewater treatment

In municipal and industrial treatment plants, activated carbon reduces adsorbable organic compounds and odours. Anthracite and garnet retain suspended solids in filter beds. Material selection depends on water analysis and process conditions.

Process and boiler feed water

Water for production lines and steam boilers requires control of hardness and dissolved ions. Cation resins are used for softening, while cation and anion resins provide demineralisation. Mixed-bed resins support final polishing where higher purity is required.

Industrial gas and odour treatment

Pellet activated carbon can capture adsorbable organic vapours and odour-causing compounds in industrial gas streams. Target compounds, flow rate, temperature and humidity all influence carbon selection.

Groundwater and well water treatment

Catalytic media are used to remove iron and manganese from well water, while granular ferric hydroxide captures arsenic. Dolomite may be used where pH correction is needed. Water analysis and operating conditions determine material selection.

Food and beverage production

Granular activated carbon removes taste, odour and chlorine from water used in food and beverage production. Powdered activated carbon is used for decolourisation in sugar and similar processing applications.

Water treatment devices and cartridges

Activated carbon reduces chlorine, taste and odour in domestic and commercial water treatment devices. Ion exchange resins provide hardness removal in cartridges. Carbon and resin selection depends on flow rate and the required water quality.
